Tenang Terms & Conditions

Booking and Cancellation

  • The Guest should register for Tenang at least 1 month in advance of the intended date of retreat. Kampung Siglap Lifeskills Training and Retreat Centre (KS) reserves the right not to accept applications received later than 1 month prior to the intended date of retreat.  

  • Any cancellation or postponement of booking by the Guest must be specified in writing to ks@newhopecs.org.sg at least 72 hours prior to the intended date of retreat, along with a valid reason and any relevant supporting documents.

  • All bookings are non-transferable.

  • KS reserves the right to postpone or cancel the retreat in the event that the retreat becomes impossible to run (e.g. COVID-19 related restrictions imposed by the government). 

  • KS reserves the right to make the necessary amendments to the retreat programme, including but not limited to the retreat venue, accommodation, schedule and other details, as we deem fit to comply with prevailing Safe Management Measures (SMMs).

Check-in and Check-out Policy

  • The Guest or nominated person-in-charge must administer the checking-in process on the first day and checking-out process on the last day of the retreat.

  • The check-in time is from 3pm to 5pm on the first day and the check-out time is by 5pm on the last day. KS reserves the right to make changes to the check-in and check-out time.

  • All room key cards are to be returned upon check-out. Additional charges might apply for missing or damaged key cards.

Use of Facilities

  • Consumption of food and drinks is NOT allowed inside the dormitories.

  • The use of the outdoor sports courts and facilities is non-exclusive. There shall be no reservation or blocking of any areas from being accessed by other members of the public.

  • No outdoor activities are to be conducted within KS between 2000hrs and 0800hrs the next day. All indoor activities should cease by 2200hrs.

  • KS reserves the right to immediately halt any activity which it deems necessary to do so, or to require all or any participants to immediately leave KS if any of KS’ regulations are breached or may be likely to be breached, or if the activity may endanger or cause discomfort or inconvenience to other guests and visitors.

Non-smoking Policy

  • KS is committed to providing its guests and associates with a smoke-free environment. A cleaning fee of S$500 will be imposed on any guest in violation of this policy. Please note that smoking is only allowed in the Designated Smoking Areas (DSAs), within the yellow box located near the side gate (10 La Salle Street).  

COVID-19 Safe Management Measures (SMMs) and Protocols

  • All guests must be fully vaccinated.

  • KS does not permit the check-in of any guest who is unvaccinated, or under Protocol 1 (unwell and tested positive) or 2 (well and tested positive). Guests who test positive whilst staying at KS should inform a KS staff immediately and comply with prevailing isolation and testing protocols prescribed by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

  • KS may deny entry to, or request guests to leave the premises:

    • ​if the guest is under Protocol 1 (unwell and tested positive) or 2 (well and tested positive) according to the MOH’s advisory;

    • to any person who is febrile or who displays any COVID-19 symptoms;

    • to any person who does not comply with the prevailing Safe Management Measures (SMMs) or the MOH Protocols.

Liability and Indemnity

  • The Guest shall take good care of the room, equipment, facilities and all property of KS. The Guest shall be solely liable for, fully indemnify and hold KS harmless from and against all losses and damage to the room, equipment and all property caused directly or indirectly by the Guest, including accidental damage. The Guest shall be responsible for any repair or rectification work necessary. 

  • The Guest shall indemnify and hold KS harmless in respect of any liability, loss, injury, damage, cost or expense of any nature arising out of, and/or in connection with the stay at KS. 

  • To the extent permitted by law, KS shall not be liable for any losses, damages, costs or expenses incurred by you as a result of any cancellation of your booking by KS.

  • KS shall under no circumstances be liable to make good or accept responsibility arising in respect of any damage, theft or loss of any property, goods, articles or items deposited in the rooms by the Guest or any other person in one way or another connected to the Guest.

  • KS shall not be liable for any loss due to the breakdown of machinery, failure of supply of electricity, leakage of water, fire, government restriction, and other occurrences that may be classified generally as “acts of God” which may cause the facilities to be temporarily closed.

  • The original English version of these Terms and Conditions may be translated into other languages. In the event of a dispute between the English version and any other language version of these Terms and Conditions, the English language shall apply and prevail.

Personal Data Protection Policy

  • By providing any information, personal or otherwise, your data may be used for the purpose of planning and administering you for this retreat, which may include the following:

    • ​to process your registration and room booking;

    • to verify your identity and allow access to facilities;

    • to conduct market research, survey and/or analysis;

    • to fulfil a legal or regulatory requirement; 

    • to respond to your queries and/or feedback; 

    • to inform you of updates and/or developments to the Tenang retreat programme;

    • to inform you of any changes to our Terms and Conditions which may affect you.
